The National Holistic Institute is one of the most respected massage therapy schools in the world. It has been hosting students and teaching massage therapy since 1979. It is the first massage school in Northern California to be accredited. Once students graduate, a network of other graduates and supporters help place students in jobs. The NHI offers continuing education classes, financing and placement services.
The Finger Lakes School of Massage was founded in 1994 by Cindy Black and Andrea Butje and is currently owned by David Merwin. There are two FLSM campuses, including the Mt. Kisco School, which opened in October of 2008.
The school's Ithaca campus has graduated over 2,000 students to date. Students enrolled to study massage and hydrotherapy can complete the 1000-hour certification program, part-time or full-time.
La' James International College is accredited and provides classes in cosmetology, massage therapy, esthetics and nail technology. The school also actively works to place graduates in their desired positions. La' James International College offers one-on-one instruction from certified and licensed instructors. Hair, make-up and other salon "guest services" are available to the general public.
Formerly known as Western Career College, Carrington College is a vocational school with a focus on allied health professions. The school offers certificates and associate degree programs in dental assisting, dental hygiene and health care administration as well as massage therapy, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technology, registered nursing, veterinary technology and vocational nursing.
Carrington College, which is a subsidiary of DeVry, Inc., also offers online programs in many other fields, such as accounting, business, criminal justice and health care management.
