Briarcliff Swim & Recreation Club is a family-oriented recreational facility. Community members can take advantage of the summer sun in this purely outdoor expanse. The facility features a heated in-ground lap pool, where children can take weekly swimming lessons.
Members also enjoy access to Secret Lake, where they may take out boats and fish. People can while away at the playground, engage in a beach volleyball match or have a barbeque. This club also hosts summer holiday celebrations, ice cream socials and wine parties.
The Ethel Peters Recreational Complex, one of the Parks & Recreation Department's facilities, is one of the busiest parks and sports fields in the town of Clinton. Besides numerous playing fields for soccer, baseball, field hockey and other teams, the town's skate park is located in the far field. There is plenty of free parking in the large lot. If you time your entrance just right, you may find the mobile snack truck awaiting your presence, especially on the weekends.
Globe Hollow is a public, seasonal outdoor pool located at 100 Spring Street across from Mt. Nebo Park. The pool is open for swimming lessons, recreational camps and public swimming from late June through late August. The pool is open to Manchester residents with a valid pool pass.
The Parks and Recreation Department runs a variety of programs year round throughout Berlin. The programs range from recreational basketball to Easter egg hunts to dog obedience training. The department also runs the Berlin Community Center, which houses meeting and game rooms that are available for rent. It also runs summer playgrounds and pools.
Sycamore Hills Park is 33 acres, enough open area for pick-up soccer games and other sports activities. There is a town pool, a basketball court, four tennis courts, a children's playscape and a recreation pavilion. The tennis courts are open to the public. Entry to the pool costs $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents. Resident membership costs $20 for senior citizens, $75 for individuals and $150 for families. Sycamore Hills Recreation Center abuts the Avon Senior Center, and passes can be purchased at the senior center.
Hollow Park is open from 6am until one hour after sunset. The park features softball, baseball, soccer and multi use fields which often hosts Woodbury recreational sports. The park also has a large pavilion near the main parking lot which, along with the fields, can be rented through the Park and Recreation Department.
Located near downtown Branford, Hammer Field & Skate Park offers irrigated open field space, two full-size baseball fields, one softball field, two backstops, lighted basketball courts, 20 micro soccer fields, a skate park and a grand stand, which is just over 90 years old, to view it all from.
You can find the Branford Parks & Recreation Department adjacent to Hammer Field with the skate park located in the parking lot in a fenced-in facility.
Parks & Recreation Department offers and develops opportunities for children and adults to enjoy a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors. Programs include a men's basketball league, fitness activities, several camps and hiking. The Parks and Recreation Commission oversees playgrounds, fields and Lake Beseck Beach.
