The Joke Shop in Waukesha is the oldest and largest magic shop in all of Wisconsin. Owner Jeffrey Campbell says his store is "Good, clean, family fun!" Still a practicing magician, Campbell has owned and run the Joke Shop since 1972. He says, "Waukesha is still a small enough town that everybody knows me." He's even been recognized as far away as Florida while on vacation.
Campbell just enjoys seeing people laugh and have fun. He says that occasionally some of the residents of the nearby retirement home will come by, look at themselves in his fun house mirror and have a few laughs, then go back home.
The store is a lot of fun just to go in to browse to see what might peak your interest. Often Campbell will do some magic card or other tricks for you. It carries magic tricks and supplies, costumes, gags, cards, magic and joke books, DVDs, clown and juggling supplies—all kinds of interesting goodies.
