St. James Armenian Church Evanston has served the largest concentration of the Armenian community in Chicago since 1944. The parish is located in the heart of downtown at the doorstep of the University. Its diverse congregation numbers about 200 people from all corners of the Armenian world--Turkey, the Middle East and the Republic of Armenia--as well as many downtown professionals and families who are third and fourth generation in the parish. St. James offers an active Sunday School and young adults group (ACYOA) as well as a Women's Guild and its Kousan Choir. The parish is best known as host of Evanston's annual Taste of Armenia Festival which draws more than 2,500 people of all ethnic backgrounds for a leisurely day of charcoal-grilled kebab and home-cooked Armenian delicacies, live music for dancing, special cultural presentations and games for the kids.

Saint Nectarios Greek Orthodox church offers Sunday worship services at 8:30am and 9:30am, with Sunday school services following at 10:30am. Saint Nectarios has a number of ministries available including Youth Ministries, Greek School, Parish Council and Adult Education. The Greek Orthodox church is located on South Roselle Road at Palatine Road.

Traditionally serving the Russian and eastern European community, The Saint Peter & Saint Paul Orthodox Church now serves an English-speaking congregation from many ethnic backgrounds. It welcomes all to come in and follow the ancient church and traditions of Jesus Christ. Events such as an annual golf outing and programs for children and seniors are held so check the Web site for details.

Confessions are held 30 minutes before Liturgy, after Great Vespers and by appointment.

This Greek Orthodox congregation started in 1951 in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, then bought this property in Niles in the 1970s. It built a school building in 1984 and the church in 1988. Rev. Dean Botsis, the pastor, has been with the congregation since 1982.

Sunday school is provided for children ages 4 and up, and bible study is offered weekly. There are programs for school-age children and college-age and post-college young adults. The church sponsors Boy Scouts and may soon sponsor Girl Scouts. 

The church offers Greek school for children from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 9am to noon on Saturdays. It also offers Aristotle Greek Preschool from 9 am to 1 pm weekdays. Its website is www.aristotlegreekschools.com.

Every summer, Greek families come from all over the Chicago area to attend St. Haralambos' Big Greek Food Fest, usually held in July.

This parish is located on the corner of 103rd Street and Kolmar Avenue. St. Nicholas operates several youth programs, evening adult Bible study groups and choir practices. It also erected Dochios Kamberos Community Center annexed to the church, which features a large gym for recreational activities.
