Founded in 1947, Group Health Cooperative is a consumer-governed, nonprofit health care system that coordinates care and coverage. The organization and its subsidiaries, Group Health Options and KPS Health Plans, serve more than 500,000 residents in Washington and Idaho. Group Health Cooperative offers coordinated-care plans for groups and individuals in Washington. Its part, Group Health Center for Health Studies, conducts epidemiologic and clinical research related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various health disorders. Group Health Cooperative operates a foundation that conducts various fundraising, school outreach and evaluation consulting projects to promote childhood immunizations and children s access to health care.
