The Vasatka-Goers WWII VFW Post #6690 was founded in April of 1946, and was named after the first soldier and airman from the area who lost their lives in World War II. The post's 312 members have served in a variety of overseas conflicts, including World War II, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. The bar and activity room are open to members and their guests. The banquet rooms are available for rent, and buzz with activity during the Post's many events, including holiday parties, taco nights and fish frys. The American Legion, AMVETS and the Mendota City Council also hold their meetings at the VFW building. The post sponsors annual Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen scholarship contests for local students.
Cradle of Hope is a nonprofit community organization that provides pregnant women and mothers of babies under three months old with financial assistance and grants. Roseville Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and worships at a site on Roselawn Avenue just west of Lexington Parkway. They congregation seeks to include everyone: one way they show that hope is by having four different styles of worship service. There is a traditional service on Saturday evenings and contemplative, traditional, and contemporary services each Sunday. The church also has a variety of outreach ministries, including volunteering in the community with Habitat for Humanity and Food for the Hungry. It also sponsors high school and college students in Tanzania who wish to attend school but can't afford tuition.
This 110-acre park has rolling terrain with wetlands, pine trees, savanna and prairie grass. The park is home to the former St. Paul underground reservoir property. When the reservoir became obsolete, the city bought the property in 1997. A special feature of the park is off-leash walking of dogs, a cooperative project between the city and Ramsey County. Dogs can be exercised without a leash in two soft trail areas, located just north of Larpenteur Avenue and east of Dale Street.

Located in the same building as the Woodbury Library and YMCA, Central Park features an indoor park area, amphitheater and Lookout Ridge, as well as an additional play area for youngsters. The location is also known as a popular wedding spot, with its large indoor garden, waterfalls and floor-to-ceiling windows. Tall trees add to the ambiance, and Central Park's proximity to the library draws visitors of all ages.
The Apple Valley American Legion is a local chapter of the national veterans and community service organization. The post features a bar and restaurant. The restaurant primarily offers American cuisine, however it does periodically host specialty food nights. The post also has a banquet room available for rental and for use free-of-charge by nonprofit organizations and schools.
