The campground is located 1.5 miles outside of town in a peaceful country setting only minutes away from a world of activities.You can raft on the river, hike in the mountains, fish in the streams or boat in nearby Glendo reservoir. If you fancy wildlife, we have it! Converse County has the largest population of pronghorn in the nation as well as herds of white tail and mule deer, elk and big horn sheep. Right on and within site of the campground you can enjoy the abundance of rabbits and antelope and......the occasional Jackalope. (But NO hunting allowed on the camping grounds!) Visit the Ayres National Bridge for a scenic lunch or climb Laramie Peak for a great workout! Nature is endless around Douglas!And for campers interested in 19th century history and the nostalgic western days, you will be surrounded by historical sites to visit. The Oregon, Mormon and Bozeman Trails passed through this area. You can visit Register Cliff near Guernsey State Park, see an Oregon Trail tombstone near Glenrock and visit the Pioneer Museum in Douglas for an abundance of history! Fort Fetterman is only a 15 minute drive away and Fort Laramie an hour. And if the rodeo urge gets to you, take in the Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo here in Douglas every August!Douglas, one of the best kept secrets! Relax at the Laramie KOA recreation and TV hall. In its early days, Laramie was a rip-roaring railroad town. Today, the University of Wyomings Western pride shines forth in this small town surrounded by beautiful mountains. Laramie KOA is easily accessible from I-80, and it has more than 100 full-hookup Pull-Thru RV Sites with 30/50-amp service (water restrictions in the winter - please call for details). The campground also offers cozy one- and two-room Cabins, Premium Tent Sites and a grassy tent area - all with picnic tables and charcoal grills. Other amenities include a recreation center (open late spring - fall,  weather permitting), an off-leash K9 area, a laundry room, satellite TV (in all rows) and Wi-Fi. Local attractions include the Wyoming Territorial Prison, Lincoln Monument, University of Wyoming, American Heritage Center, Historic Ivinson Mansion and the Ames Monument. Warm days, cool nights and a view of the soaring Uinta Mountains make this quiet grassy meadow an inviting spot to camp. Warm days, cool nights and a view of the soaring Uinta Mountains make this quiet, grassy campground an inviting spot to visit. And when you spend a night, youre joining a steady parade of travelers whove stopped here since mountain man Jim Bridger built his trading post along the Oregon and Mormon trails in 1843. The Lyman KOA is a short drive from the re-created post (some original buildings) of Fort Bridger State Historic Site. Visit Labor Day weekend to catch the Mountain Man Rendezvous, complete with black powder and buckskins. Youll find plenty of comforts at the camp-ground, including a pool, basketball, sand volleyball and a pet walk. When youre ready for more adventures, drive an hour east to 91-mile-long Flaming Gorge Reservoir for great boating and fishing plus hiking and biking along mountain trails. Devils Tower National Monument, named a "top 10 ecotourism destination," is Americas first national monument. The monument was established in 1906 by Teddy Roosevelt. Nestled on the banks of the Belle Fourche River in the beautiful Black Hills of Wyoming, this KOA campground lies in the shadow of Devils Tower. Enjoy the nightly hayride through the historic Campstool Ranch, one of the oldest ranches in Wyoming. The movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind was filmed on-site in 1976, and it is shown nightly at the campground. This KOA offers a full-service restaurant, an extensive gift shop and a Sweet Shoppe that features legendary fudge and hand-dipped ice cream. Open May 15 - October 15 (depending on snow conditions, please call for off-season reservations). Pool: June 1 - September 1 (depending on weather conditions). Max pull thru: 70 feet.
