Peter Pots Pottery, in West Kingston, is a family business dedicated to producing quality, handcrafted stoneware and pottery.
In the historic Glen Rock Mill, in a building dating back to the 1700s, Oliver Greene, owner and proprietor of Peter Pots Pottery, has been creating its renowned line of functional, durable, handcrafted stoneware since 1948. Greene personally promotes his craft in the store, demonstrating its worth and durability, answering questions and educating his customers about his life's work.
At Peter Pots Pottery, the first Saturday of every month is known as Butterfinger's Day. Butterfinger's Day is set aside for those who have Peter Pots stoneware and pieces that have been damaged. The customer may return the pieces to the store and receive replacement pieces for half price.
A unique place to shop, Peter Pots Pottery provides its customers with its very own savings plan. The Peter Pots Pottery Bank is a popular way to save for that special piece of pottery. Purchase a Peter Pots bank, fill the bank with coins (no pennies) and return the full bank to the store. The bank will be broken if need be, emptied, and the coin counted to be used toward a store purchase. Once the purchase is made, Peter Pots Pottery sends the satisfied customer home with a new piece of handcrafted pottery and two new banks to fill.
Peter Pots Pottery is open every day except for major holidays.
