Stop by Allandale Farm and you'll find greenhouses filled with perky potted perennials just waiting to be taken home and planted. While you're there picking up plants, be sure to browse the selection of food available as well. Choose from fresh vegetables and fruits, locally made treats, or a loaf of Clear Flour Bakery's artisan breads. The farm also has a summer program available for children, which teaches young minds all about the outdoors.
Wright-Locke Farm is Winchester's community farm. The farm offers an assortment of certified organic vegetables to local restaurants and farmer's markets. It is also recognized for hosting the popular pick-your-own raspberries in August through October.
Volunteers and members of the public are welcomed and encouraged to visit and see what is going on at the farm.
The Wright-Locke Farm has served community members since 1658 and the Town of Winchester is only its fourth owner. Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, operates the farm.
Davidian Brothers has been the place to go in Northborough for local food since 1920. With an enticing array of the farm's own produce as well as baked and jarred goods, Davidian Brothers is a wonder of the senses. All at once the farm is a produce market, deli, flower shop, gourmet food store and ice cream stand.
Saltbox Farm is a local fruit and vegetable farm. It is run by Ben and Julia Elliot. It has a farm stand where customers can purchase its produce and honey. It also offers cooperative share agreements. As a professional chef of 18 years, Ben Elliot offers catering and cooking lessons. Julia Elliot is a registered dietitian and offers menu planning and nutritional counseling.
