The Mermaid's Purl, conveniently located in historic downtown Wickford, is owned and operated by Lizzie Shriner, who purchased the business in 2009.
Lizzie's love for knitting inspired her to buy the business she formerly frequented as a customer. "At the Mermaid's Purl, we welcome you to come sit and knit."
Lizzie stocks a wide variety of specialty, high quality yarns for all your knitting needs. In the store, you will find yarn, buttons, beads, knitting needles, pattern books and more. Shop patterns, books and classes are available for all level knitters.
Knitting classes are limited to six individuals to allow for personalized, quality instruction. Classes are level and project based.

The Mermaid's Purl staff believes in giving back to the community, participating in an annual garment drive for the local Women's Resource Center.
