El Porto Surfboards is ideally located just up the street from one of the better surf breaks in the South Bay. In addition to a large selection of surfboards for sale and rental, the store also offers wetsuits, board shorts, body boards, fins, leashes and other surfing accessories. The store also can repair damage to your surfboard, and will even teach you how to ride one for $60 per hour-long lesson.
At the Pier since 1997, Spyder II houses the latest in beach and lifestyle trends for men, women and children. Located in an open, clean and well-lit space, the staff is friendly and willing to guide you through the store's extensive collection of clothing, footwear and accessories. From swimsuits and flip-flops to jeans, blouses, dresses and purses (not to mention hundreds of hip sunglasses and colorful watches), you can outfit yourself for a day in the sun or a night of bar hopping. Spyder II carries big brands like Quicksilver, Billabong, Reef, Roxy, Hurley, Sanuk and Ugg. The shop is owned by the same Hermosa Beach surfers who opened up Spyderboards – just down the street on Pacific Coast Highway – in 1983. Spyder II also has surfboard rentals and lessons.
