Located in Billings, Mont., Montana Womens Prison provides detention facilities to more than 265 adult female offenders and is partially responsible for over 245 other offenders. It provides a variety of educational and vocational programs, as well as parenting counseling that offers classes in prenatal skills, infant care and adolescent behavior. The prison employs nearly 90 staff members, including contract personnel. Montana Womens Prison additionally provides medical services and coordinates comprehensive health care for inmates. It also supports several clinical and mental health services, a wellness program and family support advocacy. In addition, the prison oversees activities, education, food service, case managers, and mother and child activities.
