Elite Kicks Martial Arts Academy is located in the shopping center at the foot of the Park Street bridge on Alameda's north side. Elite Kicks teaches Tae Kwon Do to adults and children, starting at four years of age. Students learn forms, sparring and discipline. Elite Kicks also offers after school pick-up, child care and training for grade school children.

The Alameda Soccer Club is a league providing soccer training and competitive teams for youth in Alameda. Advanced players in two groups, the Under-10s and the Under-19s, play in Alameda United Select teams, which are organized through tryouts each spring and coached by seasoned professionals. Small Sided Soccer is also offered for players ages 6 to 8, stressing skill development. Soccer Training Camps are run throughout the summer. Both boys' and girls' teams are run through the club.

Instead of focusing on competitive gymnastics, owner Ruby Gama focuses on progression and reaching goals while having fun. Under San Francisco's Virginia Iglesia Flamenco Dance Company, this studio offers introductory, intermediary and advanced Flamenco dance classes.  Beginners will learn every fundamental element to this art form. Classes are accompanied by live music performed by a Flamenco guitarist. Classes engage students not only in dance, but aslo in southern Spanish culture.

Lessons are conducted at the West Coast Dance Theatre on Lincoln Avenue in Alameda. The academy is composed of three studios located in Alameda, San Francisco and Palo Alto. Class descriptions, schedules and upcoming performances are listed on the studio's Web site.

Along with Lincoln Pool on the east end of town, Franklin Pool is part of the Alameda Swimming Pool Association (ASPA).  All Alameda residents may join this community of outdoor pools for an annual membership fee and a few hours of volunteer time. 

ASPA pools are for family swimming, lap swimming, competitive (Alameda Ala-gators) and non-competitive age group swimming.  It also provides a free kindergarten swim program during the school year for all Alameda schoolchildren, regardless of ASPA membership.

Franklin Pool is heated and open to key holders year-round; regular members may swim with key holders or during summer hours, when there are lifeguards on duty. Any adult member may become a key holder by taking a six-week lifeguard course, which includes CPR certification.

Founded in 1990, Icarus Bungee is a secure and exciting operation, granting local thrill-seekers the opportunity to try something new. They supervise bungee-jumping expeditions within a five-hour range of San Francisco on one of the fifteen bridges in the area (ranging from 120-220 feet). Icarus Bungee provides instruction, equipment and supervision before and during each expedition. Expeditions can be scheduled for either the early morning or evening for up to fifteen people. Icarus Bungee also offers discounts for police officers, firefighters, and military and paramedic personnel.
