Southington Southern Little League, also known as the Recreation Park of Southington, is a 37.6 acre park that welcomes athletes of all backgrounds.
In addition to little league fields, the facility features 2 lighted softball, football, baseball and soccer fields. The park also has restrooms open and available to the public, concession stands, picnic groves, a bocce court, a duck pond, changing rooms and a playground.
Parents interested in signing their little leaguer up for a season are asked to contact the town of Southington for more information.
Alling Memorial Golf Club is a local public golf course and club that is located just minutes away from downtown New Haven. It has been the host of golf tournaments by the Connecticut Golf Association, Connecticut PGS and the USGA. A renovation project in 2005 has improved the course to include features such as brand new tees, bunkers, trees and signs. The course has 18 holes. Golfing lessons, instruction and clinics are provided by appointment. The instructor is PGA Golf Professional Mr. Larry Thornhill.
This location is Shelton Little League's North campus, located on Howe Avenue in Shelton. There are two Little League regulation size baseball fields as well as a snack bar located on the premises, which is called Riverview Park. The fields are generally only open to the public during game times and the park remains closed when games are not in session.
Connecticut Sports Center is located on South Bradley Road in Woodbridge. The facility features five volleyball courts, a basketball court and a cafe serving beer and bar food. The center's Web site contains detailed information about the types of activities offered.
