This family ice arena contains an NHL rink and an international rink. The skate school offers many skating programs teaching parents, tots, teens and adults alike how to skate. There is also an introduction to hockey class for youth's ages 3 to 12 years old. Public skate and rental skates are available.
Mt. Greenwood Park is a public resource for the Mt. Greenwood community. It features 24 acre of field houses, ice rinks, swimming pools, baseball diamonds and more. It hosts Christmas parties, star gazing, gardening and other events.
The Crystal Ice House is a large facility with three rinks, a snack bar and Jerry's Pro shop. They offer hockey camps and leagues for kids and adults, figure skating in private or group lessons, public skate times and birthday parties. Skate rental is available.
Downers Grove Ice Arena, located on Walnut just north of Maple Avenue, is a vintage ice rink featuring a single sheet of ice. The rink offers beginning figure skating programs and public skate. The Downers Grove Dazzlers, a synchronized figure skating team, is based out of this rink as well. There is also an old-timers hockey league for skaters over 40.
Lace up your skates and head to this indoor year-round arena for hockey, figure and recreational skating. Private or group lessons are available. The arena offers summer skating camps, hockey leagues and figure skating lessons for all ages from tots to adults. This spot is the home of Winnetka Hockey Club, Wilmette Hockey Association, New Trier Hockey Club and DePaul Hockey Club, and an Olympic figure skating instructor. There is a high-tech skating treadmill to increase your speed and endurance. There are Pilates classes and a dance studio on the premises.
H-F Ice Arena offers a number of skating programs for skaters of all ages and skill levels. This arena also is home to a number of youth and adult hockey leagues and a synchronized figure skating team. Open skate hours vary by season. Seasonal open skate hours are posted on the H-F Ice Arena website. Admission is $6 and skate rentals are $4.
This facility also houses a sporting goods store that carries a wide selection of hockey and figure skating apparel and equipment. The rink features a party space available for rental. Party rates and packages are outlined on the H-F Ice Arena website. This facility is part of the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District.
Center Ice of DuPage is a full-featured facility that includes two Olympic-size rinks for figure skating, hockey, public skating and private events. The wood-paneled lobby has the cozy feel of a chalet, and it's a good place to warm up between sessions or enjoy a snack from the concession stand .There's also a Pro Shop where you can buy skates, apparel and accessories. On weekend nights, the rink goes dark for Cosmic Skate, a fun public skating session that features special lights synced to Top 40 music.
Group and private skating lessons are available for all ages and levels through Center Ice Skating Academy, where Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek once learned to skate. (He's been known to skate there still, from time to time.)
Geppetto's Skate Shop is an ice skating pro shop located within the Downers Grove Ice Arena since 2002. It sells both new and used skates and accessories and offers services including blade mountings, sharpenings and orthotic consultation. Services are performed for all ages and skate types.
In 1963, All Seasons Ice Rinks opened its doors to fun. With competitive hockey leagues, figure skating, coaching and family fun, All Seasons has it covered. Here you will find two full-size ice rinks and a casual atmosphere that will make you feel comfortable while you skate. Inside the facility, you will find everything you could possibly need while ice skating. At All Seasons, you can buy food and refreshments, check out skating equipment at the shop or get your skates sharpened or even repaired on site. In addition to all the services listed above, All Seasons has a work out facility and it also rents out budget trucks.
