The Allen Road location of the Norwalk Senior Center offers a wide variety of programs and events for Norwalk's senior citizens.
Recreational group activities, such as bingo, billiards, outdoor bocce and card games, are offered periodically during the week. There is a computer learning center that offers courses, and for active seniors, a variety of exercise classes. Instruction is available, and a calendar of events is online.

Stamford Senior Center is a nonprofit organization and community center offering many programs for seniors in the community. Membership is open for seniors 50 years and older and includes fitness programs, recreation programs and meals. Some options include games, cards, pool, yoga, tai shi, movies, wellness programs, blood screenings, dominos, computer programs, and much more. It also offers transportation programs. The senior center is located at Sycamore Hills Park, abutting the Sycamore Hills Recreation Area. The mission statement of the senior center states that the staff at the senior center aims to "enhance the quality of life for all Avon senior residents" and support "the social, educational, physical and psychological needs of all senior residents" through activities and counseling services. Alan E. Rosenberg is the director of social services, the seniors' municipal representation. Jennifer Bennett is the center coordinator. According to the senior center website, the center provides medical programs for seniors, including foot care clinics on the first Monday of the month from 9am to noon and blood pressure screenings on the second Monday of the month from 11am to 1pm. Seniors can also socialize at community lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a suggested donation of $2. New players are invited to joing the veteran players at bridge on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:45pm to 3pm and setback on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm. The senior center also has a pool table, and there are games on Thursdays from 9:30am to 10:30am and Wii bowling on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Serving impaired or physically challenged individuals, those recovering from illness or injury, or anyone needing the services of a companion or homemaker within their own home.
Home Instead Senior Care is an at-home assisted living service. Caregivers visit and stay for however long clients require or request assistance. Services include companionship, errand running, minor housekeeping and transportation. To schedule an appointment, call Home Instead during office hours.
Located right next to Ridgefield Recreation Center, Founders Hall provides a selection of social, educational and physical fitness programs for seniors. Programs offered include arts, music, yoga and computer classes, speaker series, outdoor trips, and movie screenings to name a few. The center has 10 activity rooms which offer over 40 classes monthly. Established in November 2002, this not-for-profit organization admits seniors—membership is free—who are 60 years or older and stay in Ridgefield and the surrounding areas. Norwalk's Meals on Wheels, located in the Norwalk Senior Center on Allen Road, has been delivering daily meals to city residents for more than 25 years. Norwalk Senior Center Executive Director Paul Palermo said that 85 people are currently receiving meals through this Norwalk non-profit agency. Anyone living in Norwalk who cannot shop for or prepare his or her own meals is eligible to apply. Payment is based on income using a sliding scale. Seven days' worth of meals (one hot meal and one cold meal daily) are provided. The caterer-prepared meals are delivered Monday through Friday by volunteers. Meals for Saturday and Sunday are delivered along with the Thursday and/or Friday meals.
Norwalk also operates a Meals on Wheels at its south site: 92 Cedar Street in South Norwalk. That site is open Monday–Friday, 9:00am–2:00pm.

Meals on Wheels is a non-profit community service organization that provides and delivers healthy and delicious meals to New Canaan residents. The goal is to assist families or individuals maintain their independent lifestyle. Individuals may be recommended for the service by nursing homes, hospitals, social service departments, physicians, visiting nurses, relatives or the individual may call on his/her own behalf. Anyone who is unable to prepare their own nutritious meals may qualify for help. Neither age nor income is taken into account.
Short-term and long-term services are available. Meals are delivered around noon by volunteers for a very low price. A Benevolent Fund is available to assist those in particular financial need.
The Senior Center is located in a former doctor's home which was extensively renovated to accommodate a large meeting and exercise room, a computer lab, billiards room, crafts room and dining area. The center runs the popular van service for transportation for shopping and appointments. It also reserves transportation on the regional dail-a-ride service which takes seniors to neighboring towns. Assistance is provided for Medicare and Medicaid information as well as support services for the companion program.
"Excite Your Life" is the motto of the Greenwich Senior Center, and with a weekly schedule that includes exercise, games, language classes, arts and crafts, health forums, line dancing, concerts, daily luncheons and weekend day trips, the community center certainly provides a means to that end. It also offers a number of social services regarding housing, health and energy assistance.
A nutritious hot meal is served daily during the workweek, between noon and 1 pm. Lunch inside is $3, take out is $3.25, and reservations should be made before 1pm the prior day. There are transportation services to and from the center. Some 400 members participate in Greenwich Senior Center events every day.
