An offical landmark of downtown Skokie, the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation is a not for profit organzation aimed at promoting the musical arts. Established in 1912, the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation received a $1.5 million renovation and was even said to be "one of the 10 best sounding theatres in the entire world" by Steven Cochran of Meyer Sound.
Since 2004, the theatre has been managed by Al Curtis. One of Curtis' goals is to go around colleges and help aspiring artists. Curtis said the ultimate goal is to "keep the theatre open, all the time."

Jane Stenson is one of three elementary schools in Skokie School District 68. Approximately 300 students from kindergarten through 5th grade attend the school.
The school was named after Jane Stenson, principal of Skokie's first school, Sharp Corner Schools, in 1929. Stenson worked 40 years at Sharp Corner Schools and was recognized as a leader in education and the community. The school has been at its current location since 1953.

The Village Art School is a private art school started by the Abbrescia brothers in 1968. Joe Abbrescia, a fine art artist studied at The Art Institute of Chicago and completed his training at the American Academy of Art. He painted all over the world and is well know for his western oil paintings. Joe was a feature artist for Glacier National Park. Village Art School served as his Chicago gallery.
Dominic Abbrescia operates the school and does art restoration. The school currently has four accomplished instructors teaching group class to adults and children in the American Art methods. Framing services are also available.
This is one of three established violin making and repair schools in the country.
