Vertical World opened in 1987 in Seattle, and it was the first rock climbing gym in the country. Today it has grown to include five locations throughout the area. The Redmond location offers classes, private parties & events, youth programs, adult programs, outdoor programs, and group climbing. Classes include Intro to Indoor Climbing, Movement & Technique Training, Lead Climbing, and Preparing for Outdoor Climbing, among other classes. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The website offers photos, videos, links, and information about rates.
With plenty of space for bouldering, and paths all the way to the top of the gym, soaring above a cardio area, Pacific Edge is definitely one of the most unique gyms in town. Pacific Edge comes with private class rooms, yoga rooms and a gym separate from the climbing area. Boasting a full climbing pro shop, Pacific Edge has all the equipment for any climber—from beginner to seasoned veteran. It's great place to get in shape and socialize with other climbing enthusiasts.
