This Republic Parking System lot, called Courthouse Square, is a convenient place for patrons of the nearby shops, courts and municipal buildings to park. Rates are $2.00 an hour before 5 pm and $.50 an hour after Sunday through Thursday. There's an $8.00 a day maximum; $1.00 an hour on Fridays after 5 pm. Word to the wise: cars released after the garage closes will be charged a $25.00 fee, so patrons should be sure to get back on time to avoid shelling out extra money.
The Republic Parking Services lot on South Henry Street provides parking for $2 an hour. Fees are payable by cash only. The company currently operates seven parking lots in Alexandria, offering a combined total of nearly 900 parking spaces.
