Pinole Middle School is currently being completely renovated with new and modern buildings. Construction is scheduled to completed in the summer of 2011. Grade levels are 7th-8th.
Located on Mann Drive, the school is part of the West Contra Costa Unified School District. The principal is principal is Catherine Cobb-van Husen.
Rancho Milpitas is one of two middle schools in the district offering 7th and 8th grade. The principal is Ms. Leticia Villa-Gascon.

Since 1970, Avocado Elementary School has been educating children in the Mount Helix and La Mesa areas. It has a very involved PTA with parents who frequently volunteer at the school.
It is a California Distinguished School, and is headed by Principal Ryan Burke, who has been at Avocado for three years. The most recent API score for the school was 865, which is 62 points higher than the score from just two years ago.
