Young Oil Tools was founded in January 1983 in Fairfax, OK. Shortly thereafter, YOT purchased the Wheatley-Shepherd Valve Co. of Tulsa, OK and relocated the operation to Fairfax. At that time, the product line consisted of a few threaded valves and a few flanged valves. In the following years, the focus was on filling in the holes in the existing product lines and adding new product lines including the wafer check and inline check valve offerings. In a continuing effort to broaden its product line, Young Oil Tools purchased Remco Manufacturing of Wichita Falls, TX in July of 2004. Remco Manufacturing produces pipe repair clamps, chemical injection pumps, meter repair kits, and tank patches and plugs. Remco Manufacturing has a solid reputation for quality and customer service and like Young Oil Tools, offers a broad product line. After the purchase of Remco, it became clear that the Fairfax facility would no longer be large enough to meet the needs of the two companies. In June of 2005, Young Oil Tools purchased a 27, 000 square foot facility in Cushing, OK and relocated the Fairfax operations to Cushing shortly thereafter. This facility will enable YOT to continue to grow while modernizing its manufacturing processes. Kelly Young is the founder and President of Young Oil Tools. Prior to founding Young Oil Tools, Kelly worked with John Woods at Woods Sales Co. and Precision Oilfield Products. Kelly and his wife Pat have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Kelly D. Young, II is General Manager at Young Oil Tools and has been with the company for 5 years. Kelly D.s background is in engineering and prior to working at Young Oil Tools he worked as an industrial engineer for the Michelin Tire Corporation. Kelly D. and his wife Jill have one son. James Weigant is the Supervisor the Remco Division of Young Oil Tools. James has been with the company for one year. James background is in Public Administration and his previous position was with the City of Tulsa, OK. James and his wife Katie have one son. Andrea Clark is the Office Manager at Young Oil Tools and has been with the company for 17 years. Andrea is the friendly voice you will hear at the other end of the line when you call Young Oil Tools. Before coming to work at YOT, Andrea worked as the Receiving Agent for the Osage County Commissioners office. Andrea and her husband Kenneth, who also works for Young Oil Tools, have one son and one grandson.
