The Apple Valley Aquatic Center is located west of Johnny Cake Ridge Road and south of 140th Street West. The center has inner-tube slides, a lazy river, lap-swimming lanes, a diving board and a water playground. There is a sand play area, volleyball courts and picnic areas. Concessions are available, and there are locker rooms for guest use.
Fuller Park is a community area and two-acre park. It is open year round and offers a range of facilities, including a wading pool and recreation center. Other amenities include a basketball court, drinking fountain, playground as well as picnic area. It also has a garden and restroom facility. Check the main department website for details on the park or for information on upcoming events.
This public park is located two blocks north of County Road 42. It features a dog park, volleyball court, open and sheltered picnic areas and play equipment. Natural and paved trails mark walking and running paths during the warmer months and cross country ski trails are designated during winter months. Athletic fields are available for soccer, football, softball and baseball. The park also provides canoe rental.

Swim laps in a 25-yard pool, take advantage of aerobics classes, skate on one of two ice sheets or have your birthday party at the center's indoor water park. Those are just a few of the recreational options at Veterans Memorial Community Center. The city's Parks and Recreation Department (open Mon - Fri, 9am - 5:30pm) also operates out of the community center. Register for any number of seasonal classes or reserve one of the Community Center's rooms for a party via the center's website ( www.funatthegrove.com).
The Lake Harriet Bandshell is located on 67 acres of land and offers a place for summer concerts as well as a beautiful backdrop for weddings and special events. The band shell is available for wedding ceremonies from May until September and offers great views of the lake as well as plenty of room for parking and seating for guests and spectators.
Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts has an art gallery featuring local, metro and state-wide artists, a gift shop selling locally based works, art and writing classes for all ages, special events, writing groups and and more. The Banfill-Locke Center is nonprofit and visits to the gallery as well as most events are free, but certain groups require membership. Come and enjoy the art as well as the surrounding Manomin County Park, which is full of flowers in spring and summer. Orchard Lake Park offers beautiful views of Orchard Lake, a picnic shelter, grills, picnic tables, benches, a playground, a snack building with restrooms, a boat launch and an area to park your boat trailer.
