The Public Works Department works year-round to ensure that township roads, street lights, signs and other like properties are maintained and in good shape for local residents. The department's duties also include snow and ice removal for some roads in the area with funds allocated by PennDOT. In cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department, Public Works helps maintain the more than 800 acres of land that belongs to the township.
The public works building houses equipment and supplies needed to repair and maintain the roads in Montgomery Township. People who need to register a complaint are encouraged to call to report all problems in the township. The facility supports buses and road work vehicles; it is also a salt storage location for the township.
