First Conservatory of LaGrange is a music school tailored to children from ages one to five years. It is located in the First Congregation Church. Lessons are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The Director is Joan Burke and their philosphy is to help children develop early literacy and language skills, acquire reasoning and early math skills, increase self control and cultivate a lifelong love of music.
Since 1978, Hogeye Music has offered the best in folklore music supplies. It provides a collection of new and gently used folk instruments, such as guitars, banjos, harmonicas and fiddles. It also offers a number of services, including repair, rentals and music lessons. In addition to instruments, Hogeye has a collection of historical folk-music books and music.
The DePaul University Community Music Division is a community school offering music programs for students of all ages. The program is a part of the DePaul University’s School of Music; it serves over 700 students in the Chicagoland area. Programs include traditional and jazz instruction, Suzuki, ensemble work, theory, musicianship, musical theatre workshops, masterclasses, individual instruction and community engagement, among others. It works jointly with a number of Chicago school programs, the Chicago Children's Choir and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services' Project SOAR. It is helmed by Director Susanne Baker.
Palos Music Instruction is a professional music studio that provides music lessons for a number of instruments and styles. Lessons include guitar, piano, voice, Jazz, drums and percussion, brass and woodwind, music theory, studio recording instruction and sight-reading. Students of all skill levels are welcome, and in-home instruction is also available.
