NYIT is a private, independent, nonsectarian and coeducational college. It offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees in arts, sciences, architecture, technology, business, education and professional services. It also offers certificate programs and non-credit courses for part-time adult learners and business professionals. Additionally, the college operates a program that provides special assistance to students with learning disabilities. NYIT has an enrollment of more than 14,000 students in over eight academic schools. Located in New York City, the college also has campuses in Central Islip and Old Westbury, N.Y. It is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, The National Architectural Accrediting Board and The Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. The college s facility consists of a student lounge, recreation areas, offices, bookstore, career network center, laboratories and classrooms.
