The Minneapolis Central Library has one of the largest collections of books and reference materials in the United States. The library has more than 3 million items, such as DVDs and government documents. It is spread over an area of more than 353,000 square feet and also features over 140,000 square feet of underground parking area. The Minneapolis Central Library serves the needs of job seekers, small business owners, investors and patent researchers. The library maintains nearly 25 new meeting and study areas. In addition, it offers special collection of children s books in more than 30 languages. The Minneapolis Central Library is a part of Hennepin County Library, which operates more than 40 library systems to serve the needs of residents in the Hennepin County in Minnesota. The Hennepin County Library has been in business since 1922.
