About the CenterThe Center for Business Law draws together and builds on the law schools offerings in various areas of business law and provides opportunities for students to learn about the challenges and possibilities of business law practice. It also sponsors programs that bring together practitioners and academics to discuss timely topics in business law. The Center serves as a forum for faculty and students to integrate course work with policy research in the areas of intellectual property law, tax law, and corporate governance and ethics.Full-time faculty members who teach business and tax law courses at New England previously practiced in large firms in New York and Washington, D.C. Among the adjunct faculty who teach electives are a member of the states Appellate Tax Board ( teaching Taxation of Business Entities ) and the past executive director of the National Association of Securities Dealers and past regional director of the Securities and Exchange Commission ( teaching Securities Regulation ).
