The Independent Living Center is a private, nonprofit corporation that offers services to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. The organization offers services for the residents of southwestern Missouri. It administers the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) attendant program. The Independent Living Center provides more than 35,000 worth of medical equipment free to consumers on an annual basis. The organization offers assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, meal preparation, grooming, toileting, and hair and nail care. Founded in 1994, it conducts one-on-one independent living skills training classes. The Independent Living Center additionally organizes social and recreational activities.

The Center for Human Services is the umbrella title under which three program areas provide services for children and adults with disabilities. Its childcare program includes a variety of services for income-eligible families, including home visits, help with accessing community services and information for parents on child development. The employment services program offers job training, job placement and rehabilitation services to people with disabilities. The community living program consists of community integration services, such as day habilitation; supported living facilities; and community housing in the form of group homes and apartments. These services are available to disabled people in Pettis, Saline and Moniteau counties in Missouri.

The Kitchen, located in Springfield, Mo., is a federally recognized, nonprofit charitable organization. It provides a supportive network of programs and services to meet the needs of the homeless and disadvantaged. Its homeless programs and services focus on those people in Springfield and the surrounding areas in Missouri who have no shelter. The homeless prevention programs and services assist people residing in the community who have needs other than shelter. The organization also offers various training programs to help people overcome their difficulties and to learn from them, while gaining education and experience, which will help them, maintain independence. The Kitchen provides its services through various Centers that include the Bill s Place, the Family Nurturing Center, the Franciscan Villa, the Missouri Hotel, the Maggie s Boutique and the Rarebreed center.
