AKG of America is a subsidiary of AKG. Headquartered in Germany, AKG is among the leading producers of brazed aluminum bar-plate heat exchangers. The company has manufacturing and engineering facilities in numerous countries, including an AKG of America location in Mebane, N.C. This location produces exchangers for use in automotive, construction, forestry, compressor, highway, railroad and household markets. It offers three major brazing operations at this location: flux bath brazing, vacuum brazing and controlled atmosphere brazing. Due to the versatility of aluminum, AKG of America s bar-plate coolers are used in a range of applications, such as radiators, hydraulic and transmission oil coolers, charge air coolers, fuel coolers, and air conditioning condensers. With more than 100 combinations of air fins and turbulators, AKG of America also custom designs cooling systems with fan, shroud, motor and finger guards.
