With tall pines and rolling hills, City Club Marietta offers the setting of a mountain golf course near a quaint and historic city square. The 18-hole course requires accurate drives over curvy fairways and putts on bentgrass greens, posing a challenge to any level of golfer.
The club lies on the original nine-hole course designed in 1915 by Marietta Country Club members on the grounds of the former Georgia Military Institute. Nine more holes were added in the 1960s. The City of Marietta purchased the course and, after an extensive renovation by Mike Young Designs, reopened the course in 1991.
Today, the City Club is managed by Classic Golf Management and offers group outings, discounts for regular golfers and lessons. The clubhouse includes a pro shop, a restaurant and other amenities.
