Run by the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, which benefits from the store's sales, the store incorporates elements of village history with a showcase of wedding gowns dating back to 1869, and key dates on plaques mounted on the store walls. Stacy's Corners also sells hand-crafted and Amish-made food items like pineapple salsa, and jam, which are some of its most popular products, according to the store manager Jennifer Porter. A cozy section of the amply-sized store features a comfortable seating area where local groups and clubs can meet.
This storefront is the local branch of Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit retailer with over 150 locations nationwide. It offers fair trade goods made by artisans Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and carries an eclectic array of items including furniture, jewelry, sculptures and textiles. It also offers a large selection of fairly traded coffee; customers who join the Coffee Club receive a free bag of coffee for every ten purchased.
