Nyacol Products was founded in 1969 in Ashland, Mass. After being acquired by the PQ Corporation in 1981, the company became privately held in October of 1999 and was renamed Nyacol Nano Technologies. Nyacol developed a variety of proprietary nano-particle technologies for manufacturing specialized inorganic colloids. The company s founders created a unique process for manufacturing colloidal silica, or silica sol. These nano-particle techniques have been expanded to metal oxides, such as antimony pentoxide, alumina, ceria, tin oxide, yttria and zirconia.
