Taylor Funeral Home was founded by Mr. Everett Taylor in 1953 at 1001 West Grand Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids. Everett was joined by his two sons-in-law, Irvin Vollert in 1966 and Michael Jennings in 1975. Irv and Mike later purchased the business from Everett and operated the Taylor Funeral Home at the West Grand Avenue location until October 2004 when they relocated the present location at 2201 Chestnut Street and renamed the business Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home. Justin Herman, a lifelong resident of Wisconsin Rapids, joined Irv and Mike at the funeral home in January 2004 after working for the Higgins Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids for five years. Justin purchased the business from Irv on February 1, 2012 and later renamed the business Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
