John Healy opened his first funeral home in South Philadelphia in 1904. Around 1910, the family name inexplicably changed to Healey, but the service remained the same. The business involved John & brother, Joseph, who also opened his own home in South Philadelphia. In 1935, Joseph's son, John A. II, opened the family's first South Jersey funeral home in Haddon Heights. This home was not very successful, and he was forced to return to Philadelphia. Eleven years later, in 1946, John tried again in South Jersey and purchased an old home from James Wentzell on the White Horse Pike in Haddon Heights. He converted the old home into John A. Healey Funeral Home, and to this day the family business is anchored here. Healey Funeral Homes now consist of two locations in Haddon Heights and Cherry Hill. Both locations are managed by Timothy J. Healey. Tim, his father John A. Healey III, and his brother John C. Healey are all licensed practitioners working at both locations. We encourage you to contact us should you have any questions or suggestions about the services we offer. We may be reached directly at one of our two locations or through our convenient online information request form. Thank you for visiting.

The James H. Hunt Funeral Home, located on 126 Ridge Ave in Asbury Park, NJ, was founded in 1959 by James Henry Hunt, Sr. We are a family owned business with a legacy of providing fairly priced funeral and memorial services with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. James H. Hunt, Sr. always had a dream of owning his own business. Born in 1923 in Chester, PA to a family including three funeral directors, he became inspired to follow the same career path. He upgraded and expanded the establishment several times over the years. Caring, intelligent, and extremely hard working; Jim Hunt successfully increased his mortuary business through the consistent delivery of funeral services with kindness, exceptional quality and attention to detail. When Jim passed away in July 1999 the ownership of the funeral home was transferred to his wife, Mildred Hunt. Daily management of the business was entrusted to long time funeral director and employee, Hubie Pierce. After Hubie Pierce passed away in July 2008 Mildred Hunt employed Nathaniel Small, Sr. as Funeral Director and Manager, and her daughter, Xenia Ware, as the Business Manager to run the day to day operations. Sadly, Nathaniel Small, Sr. passed away in October 2014. His son, Kevin L. Small, former Assistant Manager of the funeral home, assumed the position of manager. The new management has continued to employ the same business traditions utilized by James Hunt, Sr., while strategically integrating new ideas and technology to improve overall services.
