Our Services 1. Why Choose Davis Funeral Home? At Davis Funeral Home, no family has ever been turned away due to their financial situation. Most people have cost concerns. We offer flexible pricing, based on those elements from our general price list ( like a menu ) that you choose from. 2. Service Definitions: Traditional Burial: This type of service is when arrangements are made to have a visitation and funeral ceremony, followed by burial at the cemetery. Direct Burial: This service is when arrangements are made to inter the deceased in a cemetery without having any ceremony or visitation. Traditional Cremation: While very similar to traditional burial, the difference is that following the funeral, the deceased is transferred to the crematory instead of the procession going to the cemetery.

Many families today are choosing cremation. All funeral homes advertise "cremation services", but dont be fooled! Practically all area funeral homes use common, multiple user, off-site industrial crematories to handle their cremations. Cheshire Family Funeral Home utilizes the services of Tri-State Crematory, owned and operated by Lisa McKenna, wife of CFFH owner Tristan McKenna. This private, close-to-premise crematory ensures you the highest standards of care, comfort and accountability. Being affiliated with an actual crematory operator serving more cremation families every year than the majority of all other area funeral homes, we know all there is to know about cremation, and would like to share that knowledge with you so you can be an informed consumer. Please attend one of our free monthly cremation seminars or, with our "open door" policy, drop by anytime and we would be proud to give you a private tour of our operation and discuss the services of Tri-State Crematory. We are also capable of serving your pet cremation and burial needs. Cheshire Family Funeral Home is proud to offer these equally important services, including pet caskets and cremation urns, and a partnership with Ashfield Pet Crematory. Please call or email us for more information. Signature Services We offer many ways to help families personalize and customize a funeral or memorial service. Personalization not only provides a special way to remember a loved one, it also allows those present to participate in the ceremony. In addition to the Signature Service Items presented below, we welcome the opportunity to discuss other options as well to assist you in creating a truly memorable service. Nearly seven million Americans have pre-arranged their funeral with a trusted funeral service provider. More and more people are recognizing that planning a funeral in advance demonstrates love and consideration toward their family members. It is a thoughtful decision that reduces the stress of indecision and uncertainty when a death occurs. It also gives the person making the arrangements peace of mind that they have taken care of their final wishes in advance of their death.

No institution better reflects the ideals and hopes of the founder, than does the J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home. It mirrors clearly the vision that filled the life of Joseph Nazaire Boufford. Born in the Province of Quebec in 1866, he later immigrated to Somersworth, New Hampshire with his wife Clara Talbot Boufford. In 1904 he carried his business aspirations to Manchester. Here he continued what was to be a lifes study in the art of embalming and funeral direction. Following progressive associations with others he founded the establishment that today bears his name. Having laid down the policy formulated thru his years of professional service as a basis for future management, he relinquished control to his son Edmond J. Boufford. When J. N. Boufford opened the Boufford Funeral Home at 110 Bridge Street he changed the way people thought about funeral service. At the time, most funerals were conducted in private homes. He saw an opportunity to relieve grieving families of the details of preparing their homes for so many visitors. A funeral home would answer that need. To him dedication to public service was a sacred obligation. The present staff continues this tradition today. The chapels of the J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home are spacious rooms that make one feel the dignity of their purpose.
