Constitution Inn YMCA is a great neighborhood gym located near the USS Constitution Memorial Site. The gym is connected to the Constitution Inn but the YMCA also has its own entrance on the south side of the building.
The Tewksbury Knights of Columbus is a non-profit organization filled with men of faith and action. Members participate in charitable events that vary in cause and scope. The Tewksbury organization has a banquet hall on Main Street that is available for booking for special occasions, such as wedding receptions.
The American Legion is originally based out of Indianapolis and was founded in 1919. Since then, it's grown to over 3 million members in approximately 14,000 posts throughout the world. The organization is chartered by Congress and handles all lobbying relating to veteran-related issues including benefits, pensions and the VA Hospital system. Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Carter and Bush (both) have all been Legion members. This location doubles as the home of VFW Post 6800, which meets every second Saturday at 10 am. The VFW has a separate website: www.vfw6800.org and officially became chartered on April 8, 1946. There is a function room on the premises.
The George A. Campbell American Legion Post 101 is a meeting place for veterans. It hosts a meeting on the first Monday of every month and many other special events, including holiday celebrations and other fund-raising parties. The hall is available for rent.
Millican-Mackenzie Post 273 offers support services to veterans and the surrounding community. The post hosts numerous events and community services including golf tournaments, charitable events and more. The hall also is available to rent for special occasions, parties, anniversaries and more. Call to schedule an event or check the main site for a schedule.
The Columbus Club is a social club started by Italians in Framingham in 1908. Today, lunch is available Monday through Saturday and is open to non-members, as is the ability to rent the sizeable banquet hall for special events with up to 120 guests. Members enjoy community celebrations of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve and many more social and charitable gatherings.
The American Legion is a nationwide organization dedicated to supporting veterans and local community programs throughout the country. The Dover Legion Post 209 was chartered in 1919. It hosts special events throughout the year, provides scholarships and participates in numerous charitable programs such as Toys for Tots. The hall is available for rent for private functions and features a bar, kitchen and space to accommodate up to 200 people.
Sons of Italy Winchester Lodge 1580 is a non-profit, fraternal organization with about 350 members. The organization sponsors charitable events throughout the year. It has a function hall with a full kitchen and bar that can accommodate up to 150 people and can be rented by the public. This chapter started in 1930 and is is located on Swanton St at the intersection of McKay Place.
The Attleboro Lodge of Elks is a charitable organization with more than 900 members. It caters to the entire community, including senior citizens, veterans, youth, sports teams and fire departments. The Attleboro Lodge of Elks provides a facility and function hall, situated on 26 acres of land, which are available for private functions, reunions, receptions, fundraisers, school sponsored events and more.
At the Watertown Sons of Italy Function Hall, you'll find two separate meeting halls capable of entertaining nearly any size group. There's a smaller hall suited for 15 to 80 people, and a larger hall that can serve 100 to 275. This is an ideal location for any social function, including wedding receptions, birthday, graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs, and business meetings. The amenities include a stage, bar and a full kitchen, and the organization hosts regular events such as weekly bingo nights.
