The name Handheld Catering embodies our philosophy on food. We believe the food we eat should be plucked from the earth by the hands of farmers, hand-checked for quality by purveyors, and lovingly prepared into something unforgettable by the hands of the chef. T. Marzetti Company has plants across the United States that make a variety of quality food products, including Texas toast, garlic bread, egg noodles, croutons, veggie dips and the company s specialty: salad dressing. In 1896, Teresa Marzetti arrived in the United States from Florence, Italy, and started a small Italian restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Marzettis became a local favorite, especially among Ohio State University students, and grew to become a four-star restaurant and one of the finest dining experiences in the Midwest. By 1955, Marzetti s dressings had become so renowned that the upstairs kitchen of the restaurant became a full-scale factory. The Marzetti brand of salad dressings was soon found in grocery stores throughout Ohio. After Teresa Marzettis death in 1972, the restaurant closed forever, but her passion for quality still lives in T. Marzettis many salad dressings and other specialty food products. A Lancaster Colony Company, T. Marzetti Company has a number of factories, including one in Milpitas, Calif.
