The Cleveland Foodbank serves as is a resource supplied by food industry donors and provides local charities with food to feed low-income families and the poor and local charities feeding the hungry. The organization works as a clearinghouse for donated and rescued food in the Cleveland area in Ohio. It distributes food to more than 450 charitable programs, which includes area food pantries, hot-meal programs, shelters and child care centers. The Cleveland Foodbank supplies a majority of the food used in local soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries. The organization has partnerships with several hunger relief organizations that offer food and nonfood products to hunger centers administered by the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, Catholic Hunger and Shelter Network and The Salvation Army.
