It is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services and comprises various other centers and offices. The department ensures the safety of human veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, cosmetics and other products that emit radiation. In addition, U.S. Food and Drug Administration caters to consumers, industries, and federal, state, local and tribal officials.
