The Jim Henson Company, a provider of family entertainment since 1955, has received worldwide recognition as a leader in puppetry, animatronics and computer graphics. Best known as creators of the world famous Muppets, it has received numerous Emmy Awards and several Grammy Awards. Additionally, Jim Henson s Creature Shop has received Academy Awards for the visual effects and animatronic builds for the 1996 movie Babe, and the invention of the Henson Performance Control System a custom-built puppeteering mechanism. Its recent projects include Farscape, the family film Good Boy!, and the features Five Children and It, MirrorMask, a preschool series entitled Francesand and the television feature Muppets Wizard of Oz. The Andrita Media Center is a more than 106,000-square-foot media facility that provides a range of television services, including 24-hour network playback, digital satellite distribution, sports and live event backhaul and media manipulation. Its network origination services include satellite and digital fiber reception and transmission. The center serves cable headends and TV stations. It utilizes advanced equipment and compression technologies supported by 24-hour operations and engineering personnel. The center features more than 40 edit suites and workstations with voice-over booths, as well as offices, dressing rooms and support facilities with valet parking. The Andrita Media Center is wholly owned by Broadcast Facilities.
