Salt Pond Areas Bird Santuaries is a non-profit, privately administered corporation that provides services that aid in the conservation of the natural resources of Falmouth and southeastern Massachusetts. The organization specializes in lands inventory of Bourne Farm, The Knob and Salt Pond. It also hosts weddings, private functions and events on the property.
BLT is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of wildlife habitats, scenic views, watershed parcels, forests and other open spaces. It works with residents to identify parcels and pursues the purchase or gifting of these spaces. The organization publishes a monthly newsletter and allows the public to attend meetings.
Encompassing nearly 2,000 acres, Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary includes 25 miles of trails, as well as a bird-feeding station and a butterfly garden. A three-day Halloween Prowl is planned for late October at this Massachusetts Audubon Society site.
Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary has several miles of nature trails and features guided tours and organized events for children and adults. Felix Neck is known for its children's nature classes, guided kayaking tours and stargazing. Admission to this Audubon Society property is $4 for non-members and $3 for members, children 12 and under and seniors.
Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary is a recreational haven for residents of Natick and surrounding areas. It is composed of nine miles of trails and a green nature center with solar panels, solar heating and composting toilets. The trails wind through fields, wetlands and woodlands and the Indian Brook. They also include stroller and wheelchair accessible trails. It is the perfect place to stroll and watch wildlife year round. Broadmoor also allows snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.
Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions (MACC) is a nonprofit agency, which educates, supports and advocates for the Commissioners of Massachusetts. With two large environmental conferences held throughout the year, MACC provides the critical task of educating our future commissioners and is located in the same location as Habitat, a birding sanctuary.
