Design 3 Engineering is a multi-disciplined engineering firm headquartered in Billings Montana. We specialize in mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering in five western states. We provide consulting services for architects and contractors as well as full project management for government institutions, building owners and end users. Some of the services we provide are engineering design, drawings, project management, contract administration, site inspections and as-built drawings.Design 3 Engineering currently employs eight in house, four of whom are registered Professional Engineers. The heads of the mechanical, electrical and structural departments have a combined 85+ years of engineering experience and the in house drafting staff have a combined 40+ years. We outsource specialty site surveying, additional drafting needs, geo-technical engineering and as-built drawings. All the companies we employ for specialty services have been working with us for 10+ years. Our ability to produce accurate design drawings is much larger than our in house staff might imply.We are proud of our technical abilities, our engineers use a several discipline specific design programs and custom applications. All of our engineering drawings are produced with computer aided drafting. We work with a large variety of drawing formats and drafting standards for the convenience of our customers. Our drafting staff, who also double as IT, host all of our own web, mail and ftp services.Years of experience have made our drawings and specifications very accurate and consistent. We combine old time drafting craftsmanship with new design technologies. Few firms today take care to provide detailed isometric plumbing risers, electrical fixture schedules that leave nothing to the imagination, and full structural building sections.
