The congregation that now calls Irving Avenue home originally gathered in Arsdley in 1985, when it was given official status by church authorities.

In 2005, recognizing the need for a larger church to accomodate a growing population of worshipers, the congregation moved to its current address in Port Chester. Many parishioners are immigrants from India, where they were members of the Orthodox church in their native country.

It was through the hard work and financial assistance of church members that the foundation stone was placed, and in July of 2006 the church was consecrated.
