Suresh Mandava, M.D., is the Medical and Surgical Director of Fairfield County Laser Vision and Cataract and Corneal Surgeon at Greenwich Ophthalmology, now at one location. He is one of a few refractive surgeons who has performed thousands of "Complete LASIK" procedures. "Complete LASIK" means that Dr. Mandava performed the consultation, screening, measurements, surgery, and post-operative care for every patient. He performs a wide range of procedures including blade-free Custom LASIK (iLASIK), PRK, PTK, Epi-LASEK, Phakic IOL implants, Cataract Surgery and Refractive Lens Exchange with Premium IOL implants, Presbyopia-Correcting Surgery, and Corneal Transplants. Dr. Mandava graduated from Cornell University and received his medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Greenwich Hospital. Serving as Chief Resident during his ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital, Dr. Mandava received the prestigious Heed Fellowship Award and became one of the first cornea specialists to be fellowship-trained in refractive surgery and cornea.

Dr. Andrew Grose is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of simple and complex fractures of the pelvis and extremities, as well as joint replacement of the hip and knee. He completed two fellowships at Hospital for Special Surgery, the first in adult reconstruction/joint replacement and the second in orthopedic trauma. For the past 12 years he has worked at level 1 trauma centers in close coordination with neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, acute care trauma surgeons, chaplains and psychiatrists to restore patients following severe trauma. Dr. Nicholas Sgrignoli is an Assistant Attending Physician at Hospital for Special Surgery. He is fellowship-trained and board certified in sports medicine. Dr. Sgrignoli sees patient of all ages and especially enjoys helping young athletes return to sports. He believes that exercise is essential to good health and his goal is to help patients of all ages return to activities as quickly as possible using nonsurgical techniques. He is comfortable managing acute injuries, fractures, as well as chronic overuse injuries and arthritis. He completed his undergraduate training at Messiah College in central Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and proceeded to complete a Family Medicine Residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. There he fell in love with sports medicine and went on to finish his training in sports medicine at UC San Diego Health. While at UCSD, Dr. Sgrignoli was the team physician for all UCSD sports including soccer, basketball, rugby and lacrosse. Some highlights included covering college and professional soccer as well as Kerri Walsh Jennings P1440 volleyball tournament and the San Diego Seals professional indoor lacrosse. Dr. Sgrignoli has many interests including volleyball, soccer, and Gaelic football. He is also an avid snowboarder and has good experience managing ski and snowboard injuries.

Dr. Theodore Blaine is recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in orthopedics and shoulder and elbow surgery. Prior to joining HSS, he was the Physician in Chief of the Bone and Joint Institute and the former Interim Chairman of the Yale University Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. Before then, he practiced for eight years with Columbia Orthopedics – NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, and four years with University Orthopedics at Brown University. Dr. Blaine has authored and edited over 100 papers and textbook chapters in orthopaedic surgery, published two textbooks on minimally invasive shoulder and elbow surgery, and is currently Co-Editor in Chief and Founder of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty. He is the recipient for multiple grants and teaching awards for his commitment to academic medicine and orthopedic research. His professional training includes fellowships in Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Elbow Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and Musculoskeletal Research at the University of Rochester. He is an active member of multiple orthopedic societies, including the American Orthopedic Association, the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, the American Society for Sports Medicine, and the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. He has been recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in America” and Castle Connolly "Top Doctors" in the New York Metro Area. Dr. Blaine’s clinical interests and experience include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow, orthopaedic trauma, sports medicine and athletic injuries, and orthopedic research. A recognized specialist in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and elbow, Dr. Blaine has pioneered several new medical and surgical techniques including injectable medications for shoulder arthritis, minimally invasive shoulder replacement and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. He also lectures and teaches nationally and internationally on the latest technologies in shoulder replacement surgery, including reverse shoulder replacement, resurfacing and stemless bone-sparing designs. He is one of the few physicians in Connecticut who performs complex procedures including muscle transfer operations, superior capsule reconstruction, and revision shoulder and elbow surgery.
