Picture this, Sicily, 1984. A little Sicilian boy at the tender age of 8 years old started working in a little bakery. Who knew that same boy would come to America at age 15 and work his way up the restaurant lladder to establish his very own restaurant in 2008! (he actually makes the bread for the subs and the entrees from the same bread recipe he learned as a boy.) No stranger to hardwork, with an attention to detail from the oven to the table, Francesco has a God-given talent to share with the world. Some people are born to be politicians, doctors, or lawyers. Francescos life was predestined to be a restauranteur and Chef. He knew that, to be fact, the very first day he began developing his talents in that little bakery in Sicily, 27 years ago.

It was while under Robertos service that she earned the title, Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washingtons Pastry Chef of the Year 2001. Laurie is a member of the Le Dames dEscoffier and the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs. She has given demonstrations for the FreshFarm Markets in Washington, DC and the ACF ( American Chefs Federation ) National Conference. She has also contributed to two cookbooks, Venetian Taste by Francesco Antonucci and Cooking in Piedmont by Roberto Donna.In his native Canton of Thurgau in Switzerland, Reto followed in his grandfathers footsteps to become a baker and pastry chef. He arrived in the United States in 1996 to work for Albert Uster Imports, North Americas premier importer of fine Swiss foods. As their Research and Development Chef, Reto traveled extensively throughout the US, teaching classes and giving demonstrations on Swiss products to food professionals. In 2001, Reto and Laurie purchased a small neighborhood bakery and created The Swiss Bakery and Pastry Shop, where their client list includes The Embassy of Switzerland, The Embassy of Liechtenstein, Washington, D.C. Swiss Societies ( Clubs ), Washington, D.C. German Clubs, German School, Local Oktoberfests, the National Cathedrals Flower Mart and many more.
