The Driver License Division is a part of the Texas Department of Public Safety, which is administered by the state government of Texas. The division is responsible for issuing driver licenses and identification cards. It also collects, maintains and provides records and information. The Driver License Division also provides law enforcement services. It assists citizens in matters related to driver license renewal, address change and vehicle registration. The division is responsible for program monitoring and regulation, as well as for providing technical assistance to several regional service centers. The Driver License Division additionally issues occupational and restricted interlock licenses.
