Catering to the athletic pursuits of the Framingham community and beyond, the Metrowest YMCA is dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The many programs the Y offers includes swimming, a wellness center, basketball, music, dance, mind/body/spirit and many more, for families and individuals of all ages. Fees are inexpensive compared to private facilities, and there is financial assistance available.
Since 1956, Happy Hollow School has provided pre-school through kindergarten care for the Metrowest community. Located just around the corner from the Fuller and McCarthy schools, the school stresses development through self-confidence, creativity, and physical activity. One of the school's core philosophies is "learning through play." The school offers full- and half-day preschool and pre-K, full-day kindergarten, and after school programs that run until 6pm.
Since its founding in 1963 by First Parish in Framingham, Framingham Centre Nursery School has provided dedicated programming for young children in the community. The preschool meets the needs of the diverse population in Framingham and the surrounding areas by encouraging each child to grow through socialization and hands-on experiences. The school offers a flexible schedule on weekdays, starting at 7:30am, and enrolls students from age 2 to 6; toilet training is not required. The school offers weekly music and gym classes, and provides weekly Spanish classes for its 4-hour program.
Founded 41 years ago, Circle of Friends Preschool is a non-profit school for children ages two months to five years. With a student-teacher ratio of only 6-to-1 in the pre-school, and even better in the children's center, each child gets plenty of individual attention. The school offers a variety of programs including music, physical fitness, language and nature. The staff provides periodic updates on the child's development.
