ACPC has been serving central Iowa and Ames for over 45 years while providing the highest quality child care available. Over the years weve expanded to provide a variety of social and educational experiences for children ages 18 months through 12 years within an atmosphere of warmth and support. ACPC provides childcare services for children 18 months to 12 years. Children participate in planned activities geared toward their developmental levels. Full day childcare is available for children up to kindergarten. Before and after school care is provided at a variety of sites in Ames for school age children.All sites operated by ACPC are licensed by the State Department of Human Services. ACPC policies and state regulations ensure that all children are supervised in a safe yet warm and relaxing environments. The sites we operate are located in downtown Ames or in neighborhood schools to ease the travel time for our parents and children.To help parents reduce childcare expenses, ACPC allows families to enroll their children on a full or a part-time basis. A sliding fee scale, funded by ASSET, enables children from lower-income families to enroll in the same quality services provided for all.

The Hills & Dales Childcare Center possesses a Level Four on the Quality Rating System. The QRS was developed to raise the quality of child care in Iowa, to increase the number of children in high-quality child care settings, and to educate parents about quality child care. By participating in QRS, Hills & Dales demonstrates a desire to improve the quality of care and education the children receive. The Childcare Center is located in the Hills & Dales Community Center behind Kennedy Mall on Stoneman Road. The Childcare Center is proud to announce their recent QRS rating of a level 4.
