Bedford resident and owner Ann Davison decided 15 years ago that she would like to have a place where children could learn the arts without having to drive far. With help from wonderful teachers over the years, BYPC has since developed into a thriving and busy performing arts center, with children performing locally and even nationally! The center provides not only lessons in dance, music, and theatre performance to kids of all ages, but also provides a preschool for ages 2 - 6 that incorporates all of these as well. As a former teacher herself, Ann strives to offer programs such as Musicgarten and Leap n' Learn that provide the best learning potential. BYPC is now about growing the community children through the arts.
Broadway Bound invites all who enjoy performing to visit and find a class that will allow them to exercise their talent. It teaches performance skills to all abilities and ages starting at the age of 18 months.
Broadway Bound has baton twirling lessons that can lead to team and solo competitions. It also has dance classes such as ballroom, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. It has Zumba classes, dance n' tone aerobics, and dance and play time for young children.
There are musical theater and voice lesson classes in addition to its home school and special needs programs. Broadway Bound also has space that you can rent for birthday parties. Summer classes and camp are available. View the website for class information.
Voter's School of Dance & Gymnastics was founded in 1951 by Pam Voter. The school teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical dance. The gym has apparatus for both women's and men's events, along with equipment and mats for preschool and school aged children. Voter's School of Dance & Gymnastics also holds a Shaolin Kempo karate class.
Let's Dance Studio holds over 10 group classes a week, including Zumba fitness sessions. Classes are held in four week sessions that include free weekly practice sessions and free monthly balls. Newcomers receive a free 20 minute private lesson so that when they enter the classroom they will feel more confident. Some of the classes that are offered include Ballroom, Latin, Argentine Tango, Hustle, Mambo, Samba, Viennese Waltz and the Quickstep. It also has private lessons for the Foxtrot, Waltz, East and West Coast Swing, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa and more. There are also workshops and lessons for those wishing to practice their wedding dances.
The Londonderry Dance Academy encourages students to understand and appreciate all forms of dance. The experienced staff uses dance as a platform for the teaching of life skills, self-confidence and personal growth. Dancers who aspire to be professionals or who just love to dance all are encouraged sign up. The academy serves the greater Londonderry community.
