The Darien Arts Center is a non-profit community service organization that has been an important part of cultural life in Darien for over 30 years. The center was founded in 1975 and is run by a volunteer board of directors and a number of committees and boards who are dedicated to supporting the visual and performing arts in Darien.
Located at the Town Hall, the Arts Center offers a number of dance, music, visual arts, and theatre classes. Close to 800 students take part in the DAC’s programs each week. Hundreds more are involved with the center’s various performance groups including the Darien Players and the Cabaret.
The Darien Arts Center is funded exclusively by tuition, ticket sales and donations.
Pointe 2 Perfection Dance Studio is located in Village Square on Middlebury Road. Classes are available for students three and up and include tap, ballet, lyrical, jazz, and hip hop. Pointe 2 Perfection also has an elite dance team that practices all year and participates in at least two competitions a year.
Brass City Ballet is a non-profit dance studio geared towards teaching students the art of dance based on their individual needs and interests. Hip hop, jazz, modern, ballet and tap classes are offered for students of all ages and a holiday production is put on every year by the students. Brass City offers student scholarships and believes in the power of outreach, holding community events and taking an active role in the betterment of Middlebury's community.
